In August, our 6th-generation owner traveled to New Delhi—which was surprisingly cooler than Japan—for a promotional event at the Embassy of Japan and a market research tour. This marks the first time “Sanzen” has landed in India! 🍾It was a true moment of “Discovery Sake,” as they deeply engaged with the history and brewing culture, nodding and smiling as they connected the flavors with their newfound knowledge. On the market side, while sake is available at upscale Japanese restaurants and bars, its high market price was surprising. We realized that we must first help stimulate local demand! Throughout the tour, we experienced many rich dishes bursting with spices and seasonings. We felt strongly that our “Sanzen Honjozo”—known for its crisp yet clean and smooth finish—would pair beautifully with this cuisine. India is a country of multilayered culture and lifestyle. Looking forward to the near future when sake joins beer and Indian wine as a standard menu option, we are committed to making a long-term impact here. 🥂
